A package of four cypress deep beehive boxes. They are box jointed, 10 frame and made to Langstroth specifications. The holes are pre-drilled to prevent splitting, and galvanized box nails are included. The top rabbet is 5\8 an inch for proper bee space. The bottoms are rough cut to prevent sliding and easier hive tool insertion. Your bees will be proud to call these beehives home. The cypress lumber was harvested in Kentucky, and the boxes were cut by hand and machine jointed. The quality of the wood is number 2 or better. There is no need to paint cypress boxes. Cypress repels moisture and will last many, many years. Cypress also resists rot, is lightweight, and is phenol (plant toxins) free. If you choose to paint, the wood holds paints and urethane nicely. If they are not painted, they turn a pretty silver gray. Buy these bee boxes for yourself and leave them to your children. Tops, bottom boards, and frames are not included.
