This is a multi-pack containing two 2 lbs. (one quart) re-sealable Mylar pouches of orange indicating silica gel.  The silica gel desiccant is made of silicon dioxide and formed into hard beads 2-5 mm in diameter.  The beads have a strong affinity for water and are commonly used for humidity control applications. Orange silica gel is impregnated with phenolphthalein, a color changing moisture indicator.  When dry the beads have a yellow-orange tint.  When saturated the beads become green.  Orange silica gel is often used in place of blue silica gel, which contains cobalt chloride, a possible carcinogen. The pouch is both heat and zip sealed.  After tearing open the heat seal, use the zip seal to safely store the desiccant beads.  Store in a cool dry area.
