Healing in a moist environment Painless and atraumatic removal Immediate and vertical absorption of exudate Micro-adherence DESCRIPTION ¦ UrgoTul Absorb is an absorbent, sterile, non-occlusive lipido-colloid dressing (issued from the Lipido-Colloid Technology, exclusive innovation by Laboratoires Urgo). COMPOSITION: UrgoTul Absorb is a super-absorbent and micro-adherent dressing with new TLC-Contact Technology. This new dressing is composed of expanded polyurethane foam combined with a lipido-colloid matrix that micro-adheres to the wound. METHOD OF STERILIZATION: Sterilized by ionizing radiation. PROPERTIES ¦ The new TLC-Contact matrix of UrgoTul Absorb has been developed using TLC Technology with the addition of functionnal polymers in the mass. On contact with the wound, these polymers interact with living cells in their environment due to their physicochemical properties and encourage proliferation of dermal fibroblasts. ¦ On contact with wound exudate, the lipido-colloid gel formed creates a moist environment favourable to the healing process. ¦ Painless and atraumatic removal for the new-formed tissue. ¦ The pad of UrgoTul Absorb protects the wound and absorbs exudate from the wound. It protects surrounding skin and avoids the risk of maceration. ¦ Flexible and conformable, UrgoTul Absorb is especially suitable for wounds located in awkward areas. ¦ The micro-adherent properties of the dressing facilitate nursing care in terms of praticity and compliance with treatment. INDICATIONS ¦ UrgoTul Absorb is indicated for the treatment of chronic exuding wounds (leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers), acute exuding wounds (second-degree burns, skin abrasions, traumatic wounds, surgical wounds) and cancerous wounds. DIRECTIONS FOR USE METHOD OF USE ¦ Cleanse the wound with saline solution. ¦ Remove the protective transparent films from the dressing. ¦ Apply the micro-adherent side of the UrgoTul Absorb dressing to the wound bed. ¦ If necessary, the micro-adherent UrgoTul Absorb dressing may be cut, using sterile scissors, to match the size of the dressing to the wound. ¦ Hold the dressing in place with a retention bandage. ¦ Apply compression bandage over the dressing when prescribed. ¦ Renew every 2 to 4 days, depending on the wound conditions. PRECAUTIONS ¦ The micro-adherent mass of UrgoTul Absorb sticks to latex surgical gloves. It is therefore recommended that the product be handled carefully, avoiding any contact with the adhesive surface. ¦ Due to the non-occlusive nature of this dressing, micro-adherent UrgoTul Absorb may be used on an infected wound under strict medical supervision. If there are clinical signs of local infection, UrgoTul Absorb may be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional in combination with suitable systemic antibiotics. ¦ Single use sterile (Radio-sterilised) individual packaging: reusing a single use dressing may lead to risks of infection. ¦ UrgoTul Absorb should be stored flat. ¦ Do not use if sterile protection has been damaged.
