Slide has 10 pitch, 2 start acme screw. The acetal antibacklash nut and dual thrust bearings minimize leadscrew end-play and backlash. Assembly includes NEMA 23 motor mount and 1/4 dia shaft, flex coupling. Slide has 16, 8-32 tapped mounting holes. The frame is pre-drilled and tapped for use with V-wheel, rail installations. 4 mounting holes are tapped, and 3 are counter bored for 1/4-20 cap screws. Assembly weighs 4.5 lbs. This Axis will cut up to 150 inches per minute, dry. With light lubrication, it can be used at speeds up to 250-300 inches per minute. Overall thickness of axis, across slide is only 1 7/8 inch ( 1.875). Backplate is 3.5 x 9 inch. Over all length is 11 inches, excluding motor. This Z-slide will mount your spindle very close to the carry axis, for improved ridgidity and reduced chatter when climb milling. To avoid dimensional creep and flexing, this Z-slide does not use any plastic material for the frame or slide components. All structural components are made from precision ground, cast aluminum alloy plate(MIC-6). The aluminum components are all black anodized to prevent corrosion. The anodize coating also provides a hardened surface to guard against surface scratching and denting. The design uses 4 linear ball bearings and 65Rc hardened steel rods to assure a long life and no sag or slop from use of bronze sleeves. If your machine frame is strong enough, this slide can be used for Climb milling. 277 oz-in Bi-polar stepper motor shown is not included, but may be added to the auction for $50 additional, including shipping.
