 LASER POWER: 40 Watts CUTTING AREAS: 24" (609mm) x 20" (508mm) CUTTING MATERIALS (not exhaustive): Acrylic, wood, paper, leather, cork, cardstock (Not PVC) BuildYourCNC.com OPTIONS: Parallel breakout board, potentiometer cap, build in computer COMPATIBLE CNC SOFTWARE: Mach3, LinuxCNC, have extensive user documentation, others you will need to configure with little direction. UPGRADES: Custom steel base and stand, attached shelf for keyboard+mouse, partially completed housing underneath laser cutter for extra storage. NOT INCLUDED: Monitor, keyboard, mouse ETC: Laser has been aligned To create designs, there are many programs out there, but in general, you will need a CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing). There are programs out there that will create g-code from pictures, generate cad geometry (.dxf) from artwork which are great uses for engraving. With CAD and CAM, you have infinite possibilities to engrave and cut whatever you can imagine.
