Formvar Enamel is made from vinyl acetal resins produced as a smooth uniform film. Formvar has excellent mechanical properties such as abrasion resistance and flexibility. This period correct wire was used widely in vintage single coil pickups from the '50s and '60s and is commonly used today in many of the reissue and custom shop guitar pickups.    INSULATION INFORMATION:   Temperature Class: 105° C  Insulation Type: Formvar BA: .0024"-.0025" O.D.: .0028"-.0030" NEMA Specification: MW 15C Federal Specification: JW1177/4 IEC Specification: 317-1 Insulation Characteristics: Formvar magnet wire is insulated with vinyl acetal resin, as a smooth uniform film. Formvar has excellent mechanical properties such as abrasion resistance and flexibility. The film will withstand excessive elongation without rupture.   General Applications: Motors, random wound coils, oil filled and dry transformers, armature and generator winding where "tough" film may be required.
