5 XLT-48005 POE Power Over Ethernet 802.3af 48V 0.5A injectors. **This is for 5 POE Injectors** This POE midspan power injector will deliver the correct voltage and amperage over cat 5/5E/6 cable. Power over Ethernet or PoE describes any of several systems which pass electrical power along with data on Ethernet cabling Since only two of the four pairs are needed for 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX, power may be transmitted on the unused conductors of a cable. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electrical power to devices. PoE allows 328 feet (100meters) cable lengths. The IEEE PoE standards provide for signalling between the power source equipment (PSE) and powered device (PD). This signaling allows the presence of a conformant device to be detected by the power source, and allows the device and source to negotiate the amount of power required or available. Up to 25 watts is available for a device. If the end device does not negotiate then default power is supplied by the XLT-48005. 3.3" x 1.85 x 2.15" LxWxH 110 V For equipment that does not already have a power or data connection, PoE can be attractive when the power demand is modest. For example, PoE is useful for IP telephones, wireless access points, cameras with pan tilt and zoom (PTZ), and remote Ethernet switches. PoE can provide long cable runs of 100 m (330 ft) and deliver 25 W of galvanically isolated power. IP Security Cameras Network routers A mini network switch installed in distant rooms, to support a small cluster of ports from one uplink cable. (These ports on the mini-switch do not themselves provide PoE.) (In most modern VoIP phones a two-port switch is embedded to which a local workstation can be installed using a different VLAN from the voice-VLAN used by the phone itself) Network webcams Network Intercom / Paging / Public address systems and hallway speaker amplifiers VoIP phones Wall clocks in rooms and hallways, with time set using Network Time Protocol Wireless access points Outdoor roof mounted radios with integrated antennas, 802.11 or 802.16 based wireless CPEs (customer premises equipment) used by wireless ISPs.
