It is impervious to weather & will not rust or corrode. It is 1/8th the weight of steel, making it inexpensive to ship, safe, and a pleasure to work with. As you can see from the pictures below, we use this product on our own farm. Missouri at times can experience heavy snow loads, up to 2', so what I do is run a heavy 12.5 gauge wire every 8' in one direction, then run this product (8 gauge mono-filament) every 8' perpendicular. I was running the 12.5 gauge wire both directions, but I took that down and started using this product about 3 years ago. I did that for a couple of reasons. This product looks a lot better than the wire, blends into the background & it is a lot easier to work with. If I was living in an area without a lot of snowfall, where I didn't need the additional tensile strength and resistance to elongation that the 12.5 gauge wire provide, this product is all that I would use to support my netting. This product is so hard & smooth that their is no need for a pulley. We have our black lab using about 100 ft. of this product. It will not rust & fray like steel cable does, blends into the background, and with 1093 lbs tensile strength should be strong enough for any dog or cat lol. Clothes line (Trust me on this one. I have hung my clothes out on the line to dry for over 30 years now). If it isn't snowing or raining my clothes go on the clothes line. Your clothes last longer, and it is a big savings on money and electricity. Over the years I have tried several different clothes line materials, most deteriorate quickly, are too stretchy, or break too easily. This product has very high tensile strength and should last 15 to 20 years. It makes an excellent clothes line.
