Developed for milling of steels at higher speeds. Its unique substrate design, with cobalt-enriched periphery, provides maximum wear resistance combined with the chipping resistance needed for high-speed milling operations. Applying the patented PVD coating over a CVD coated insert allows application of thicker coatings than are possible with other CVD coatings. This provides desirable compressive stresses in the coatings to delay thermal crack initiation. KC792M is the higher speed companion to KC710 for dry steel milling.
