This is a capacitor removed from a quanta ray yag laser. It is rated at 550V working volts, but the realistic surge rating is at least 750V. It has the full foil high current pulse design unlike the cheaper motor start capacitors that have a spot welded tab connecting the foils. In other words it is designed to discharge fast. These older oil capacitors are built like a tank and are very hard to kill. Use with a 55 turn air core choke for driving a SSY-1. I use one of them in my general purpose laser flash tube tester. These oldie but goodie capacitors are getting harder and harder to find. I have lots of other nuclear related items, lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.
