WCL EXCELSIOR is the gasket material we use in our workshop to manufacture and refurbish miniature steam locomotives and steam engines, it is a non asbestos jointing sheet composed of Kevlar, aramid fibres, special glass fibres and thermally resistant fillers, bonded with high ACN-content NBR elastomer. The formulation gives the material good chemical stability and excellent resistance to creep at high temperature. Key Features - High resistance to hot oils, fuels, hydrocarbons and refrigerants. Good steam resistance and excellent creep resistance. This material is asbestos free and has very low gas permeability. Ideal for making gaskets. Applications – High temperature applications, in presence of gases, fuels, oils, mild acids and steam. Technical Data Colour: Blue Maximum. Short term temperature 440°C. Maximum continuous operating temperature with non-aggressive media 350 degrees C Maximum continuous operating temperature with steam 250°C Maximum operating pressure 100 bar.
