The product dents easily as the surface is somewhat malleable (nickel-copper plated), so don't stick anything-ferrous to it or you'll end up with dents and nicks. The magnet is intended to be encapsulated in a (conductive) casing. 2. Banging things against any ferromagnet may realign the domain fields, thus reducing the magnetic effect, not to mention the possibility of shattering the magnet and watching your flesh turn into ground meat as the myriads of extremely sharp realign themselves through your flesh (extreme example, especially applicable to cheaply-made neodymium magnets that can shatter, but you wouldn't want to test that hypothesis on yourself).
