Columbian Marans are considered extremely rare. They are also known as "Ermine" Marans. Up for auction are 6 eggs from my flock of Columbian and Coronation (blue) Columbian Marans. Extras will be provided if available upon time of shipping. I will be selling these for a limited time this year. I have been working on this line I created myself, since 2008. Which means I have worked on them going on now 7 years and into the now the 9th generation, from closed flocks. And kept careful records of my "Troples Line". Since I did not get these from anyone else. They are now 98+% Marans blooded. However selection and culling is still needed to continue to improve upon them. Would also possibly benefit from more back breeding to the Wheaten Marans as well. So do not expect every bird to be perfect and to the Marans standard. This is true with any line of Marans. Or any breed of chickens in general. Egg color is between a 4 and 6 on the egg color chart on average. But expect to get individuals that will lay lighter and darker with each generation. Egg color has darkened some since the photos I have shown here. Will most likely send "as laid" at this time. Then just the darkest ones only. Only half my Columbian hens are laying right now, but should pick up later as we go into spring. So far fertility is at 95% and hatchability 90%, here at home right now. (Photo of chicks is from my second hatch this year. Orange spots on heads are from a marker.) But remember buying eggs to hatch is a big risk. Please be aware of this before you bid. I can not guarantee what your hatch rates will be once the eggs leave my hands. Due to a lot of circumstances beyond my control. Such as rough shipping, late arrival, cold or hot weather conditions and or incubator failure. My job is to just to try to get them to you intact. I can't stress it more then to please be aware of these risk factors. This is why egg purchases are often not refunded. However, I will replace eggs if something does go terribly wrong (nothing hatches). But I replace ONE TIME ONLY. Buyer pays postage for me to send them. If you request replacements. You may have to wait for them due to other egg orders I may have to fill. Requests and orders will be filled in the order they come in. So be patient. And please, if something goes wrong, contact me.
