(6) QuickPAD wireless keyboards + infrared receiver + Padded Case + Cables The QuickPad is a powerful and versatile writing tool designed for today's teachers and students. It allows students the ability to utilize a word processor where ever they chose to work. Our school was moving to a new building and selling some excess supplies. I added batteries to each and they all powered on and keyboards and displays all function, I could not test the IR and transfer to my computer as I don't have the connection on my mini netbook. Quickpad is a very portable and convenient writing tool. With the supplied IR interface to your computer keyboard interface, You don't even need to connect the Quickpad to ship files to my computer. The Quickpad is heavily targeted for the school environment, and the file system it supports is great for that purpose. Each folder may be named, password protected, and contain several (small) files. This makes it perfect for students. A single Quickpad could serve several students, each having their own folder and be denied access to other students' folders. Quickpad IR give you access to a writing machine that wouldn't keep me tethered to a power outlet like a laptop, with a battery life that is notoriously short, and when stowed in a backpack with a power cord, it gets heavy. The Quickpad weighs in at just 1.5 pounds and runs for 400 hours off of 4 AA batteries. No more searching for a wall outlet just as you hit your writing stride! This little unit is sturdy as well. The keyboard is full size, which makes typing easy, but it does have a very firm feel- almost like an old electric typewriter. It takes a few minutes to get used to it, but it doesn't take away from the overall usefulness of the device. The display is 4 lines by 60 characters. It has a typing teacher, spell check The Quickpad IR comes with an IR pod that connects to your computer. Just point the Quickpad at the pod, press send and your file transfers to your computer. These came from our local school and have been etched with school's name.
