6 x ROLLS BLUE RED BLACK & WHITE GILDING EMBOSSING FINISHING STAMPING FOIL Over the next 2 weeks I will be listing a super collection of leather working embossing / gold leaf gilding tools / stamps. They are from the estate of J.C Player & Co "Leather gilders, stampers and writers". They operated in London (Lexington St. I believe) and Chardstock in Devon during the 1950's / 60's and 70's. These and masses of other related items were discovered in a garage in Devon some years ago. I purchased this small part of the garage contents (which still runs in to hundreds of items) from an auction house in 2012. I have embossing stamps of numerous military regiments, top retailers such as Harrods, Aspreys, Finnagans and other well known names such as Wilkinson Sword, Dunhill & Purdey. The tools are mainly very well made in brass with hardwood handles (handles are varying conditions, some with scorch marks from the gilding process). In amongst this lot of gilding tools is a large quantity of rolls of gold leaf, silver leaf and foils. The makers include Whiley, AP, Magna, Vapco and Newvap. I don't know how old they are but documents I have range from 1948 to the late 1970's. I really don't know if they are genuine gold leaf or foils. I am sure those in the know will. Each listing has the width of the rolls, there are various lengths remaining. Sorry but I can't measure them all. Please see the pictures. This collection cost me a lot of money at the time. I have no idea of the value and have based the auction start price on my initial outlay, after all where are you going to see them again! For condition please see pictures. Description Total weight - 720g White measures - 15.5cm wide Blue (smallest) measures 3.8cm wide 5199 / GW 487 Due to continued problems with deliveries and customs in Italy, Russia, Ukraine parcels will have to be sent tracked and signed. This will be earth to much noisean additional ?5.30 on top of the standard advertised postage. I don't wish to exclude these countries but with so many parcels going missing this is my only course of action. Sorry there are no exceptions to the rule. My prefered method of payment from UK buyers is paypal but I do accept direct bank transfer, cheques or postal orders. For overseas buyers I accept paypal, bank transfer or a check drawn in GBP sterling. I require payment within a week unless I have agreed otherwise. I post my items by Royal Mail unless they are over 2kg in weight or cheaper by courier, and proof of posting is obtained. Please note that shipping to Scottish Highlands and Islands off the coast of UK incur additional postage charges. This is both with Royal Mail and courier services and mainland UK postage rates are not applicable. Parcels to Italy will need insurance so please wait for your invoice with insurance added. Thanks. IMPORTANT POSTAL INSURANCE INFORMATION - PLEASE READ... Royal Mail's compensation level is now just £20.00 unless insurance is purchased. Items with a weight over 2kg will be sent via courier. A telephone number will be required. No delivery to PO Boxes will be accepted. The buyer is responsible for any customs import duties or taxes payable on the goods they purchase. IMPORTANT If Royal Mail, local postal services or courier companies attempt to contact or deliver the parcel and are unsuccessful, the parcel in most cases is returned to me after a period of time. In these cases the buyer is responsible for any return or subsequent delivery costs. High value items will have been insured and sent with tracking. If required please request the tracking number as it is the buyers responsibility to track their parcel. In 14,000+ deliveries we have only lost a handful of parcels and all buyers got their money back. Hopefully my feedback speaks for itself, but I run a business and these terms are necessary. A) I pride myself in keeping my postage and packing costs as close to cost as I can and will where possible will combine postage costs for multiple purchases. I will not enter in to negotiations over postage costs. Each item is weighed and accurate postage displayed in the listing. B) If you pay by paypal then you are covered by their "Buyer Protection" and in line with this I have to provide documented insured cover for purchases over £20.00. I reserve the right to insure items in line with this policy. THIS COST WILL BE PASSED ON TO THE BUYER. Detailed costs are in the shipping section. C) Compulsory insurance - I reserve the right to send the item insured if the auction price goes over £20.00 to comply with paypals buyer protection policy. This is non negotiable if you pay via paypal. If you wish your item to be sent uninsured you may pay via another method but all risks are accepted by the buyer and only the standard compensation of up to £20.00 can be claimed. D) Lost or damaged items - In the unlikely event of an item received damaged or being lost please email me. I will then make a claim on your behalf against the post office. I can claim only after 25 working days after posting and it can take up to 3 weeks for them to reply to the claim so please be patient. When we are refunded then you will be. No claim can be made for damaged china or glass (post office rules). Successful claims for loss will only reflect the value of the item as the post office will not refund postal charges. E) Overseas buyers are wholly responsible for any customs duty or local charges that may occur within their own country. FEEDBACK I will reply to any feedback given. I want to make sure you are happy so will give feedback when it is received. NON PAYING BIDDERS After 7 days I will send a reminder invoice followed by a "non-paying bidder alert" and a non payer strike against the bidder. REFUNDS I do not claim to be an expert on any subject. I try to describe all my items as accurately as possible. They are however SOLD AS SEEN. Some might possibly have what I consider "wear" consumate with age - slight surface blemishes, tarnishing, very small natural cracks in wood, very slight colour variations.
