It is not possible to determine the life span of a polyethylene tank as many factors can affect it, such as the type of material stored, whether the tank is indoor or outdoor, and the location of the tank. Our tanks cannot be pressurized or buried unless they are specifically designed for those purposes. The tanks are made using linear, high-density polyethylene resin which is UV stabilized, but it is always best to keep the tank sheltered or indoors for a longer lifespan. The resins used to manufacture these tanks meet FDA Regulations 21 CFR 177.1520 (c) 3.2 so they can be used as an article or component of articles intended for use in contact with food. The wall thickness varies from top to bottom, and the bottom is the thinnest part of the tank and made that way to flex when the tank is full or empty. The wall thickness generally increases as you go from the top to the bottom of a vertical tank. This is done to increase the resistance to head pressure created by the height of the liquid in the tank. It is not advised to store petroleum products as they can soften the tank walls, and the maximum temperature these tanks will withstand is 120 degrees F. This 60-gallon cone bottom poly tank is ideal for mixing biodiesel. It does not come with a stand and has a 31" diameter and 32" height, with a 16" fill opening featuring a lid and a 2" drain outlet. Inductor tanks are perfect for mixing chemicals when filling a larger tank. These tanks have a conical bottom design that enables quick and complete drainage. They are made of durable, high density polyethylene and are both impact and chemical resistant.
