Presale: Ships within 30 to 45 Days My Grandfather once said, "If he could keep only one of his bloodlines it would be his Madigin Clarets because if he ever lost them they couldn't be remade. All of the blood they were made from is gone." He was very proud of these very game uniform and beautiful birds. He got them direct from Col. Madigin's son in law in 1946. As you can see they are yellow-legged as they always have been.  Here is an article written by Col. J. H. Madigin in 1936 on the origin of the Clarets. It appears in the June 2008 gamecock "In the year 1907 I received from my friend, Andrew P. O'Conner of Maryland, two pullets one a black-red with a pea comb the other a wheaton with a single comb. I lost the pea comb pullet. I put the single comb pullet at the race track where I was walking a stag for Henry Deans- a pure black-red with white legs. Early the following spring the O'Conner hen stole her nest in the bush and brought out a large clutch of chicks, of which nine were stags-all black reds with white and yellow legs and of very deep wine color; hence the name Claret. We walked and fought them and they proved to be very successful Upon breeding the further, one in every 8 or 10 came white, and they are still doing so. In fact this year we have many whites and a few spangles. I have tried to keep the same, as possible. All crosses have been a failure with few exceptions. The above also appeared in the December 1947 issue of Gamecock  These birds are exclusively from my Grandfather Herman Pinnon's blood lines, some of the best fowl that my brother and I got in 2002 when he passed away. My world-famous grandfather, breeder of game fowl for over 60 years, won a world championship and hundreds of trophies. We too, have bred selectively for gameness and shear beauty. I try to keep my grown birds in a minimum of 200 sq. ft. of pen space per adult bird unless they are in moveable pens that can be kept on fresh grass. They are well fed prefering grass, garden scraps and bugs in the summertime. They are extremely healthy and well taken care of. The rich woodsy bottom land I live on seems particularly conducive to raising strong healthy fowl. I am a member of the National Poultry Improvement Plan tested Pullorum Typhoid Clean. Eggs are sold for agricultural, exhibition, breeding and other legal purposes only.   This auction is for 7+ eggs from 10 different brood pens of pure Madigin Clarets. We have a limited number of eggs for sale this year. My birds are hatched from brood hens, and I have about an 85% hatch rate. I will guarantee these eggs are fertile and no more than 3 days old when I mail them. I can not promise hatchability because of a wide range of variables in hatching eggs. We try to do our part by wrapping the inside of the box in Aluminum foil and packaging the eggs extremely well in bubble wrap. Currently from the buyers I have heard back from over 99% of my eggs have arrived unbroken. Shipping fee is $15 priority mail 2 to 3 days $35 express 1 to 2 days to anywhere within the continental U.S..  Expect a time delay in shipping to Hawaii for Your Dept. of Ag to send me the red entry permit. My cell phone no. is (573)881-4024. Note: I believe the old saying 1 picture is worth a thousand words. I will be updating my pictures regularly. Notice the nice red eyes. I have been breeding to try to improve my birds every year and I really like my matings this year. You will get eggs out of my brood pens. Also check out my other ads in our ebay store. I do combine shipping. No additional shipping charge for additional eggs.   Feedback from 2012 just thought I would let you know that 9 of the 10 eggs hatched but the hen killed 1 by accident and the other 8 are fine right now. Thank you very much! If you ever have any grays I would be interested.  Thanks so much on your Lieper and Yellow Hatch eggs. 100% hatch out of all the eggs. Wow! Ive never had that on shipped eggs before! Now I just need to know who is what. Which ones have the black stripping?  Bruce, Just wanted to update you, your most recent shipment of eggs, roughly a month ago, yielded amazing hatch results, I believe you sent me 16 eggs, We had 12 hatch and two fail to hatch...It was an excellent, excellent result, and better still out of the 12 that hatched only 2 are stags, the rest are hens.  Thank you very much for your wonderful stock!  Regards,  Hi Bruce, I got an awesome !00% hatch! I wanted to thank you very much. From the last hatch I had too many roosters to keep so put an ad on Craigslist and got two buyers and a call for more. I will probably need to bid again. I haven't perfected my separation of the pens because the chicks move around even when just out of the shell, so probably need another incubator. Please leave my feedback. I already left yours. Thanks again,
