This chuck was an ebay purchase that we modified to our needs. We could never quite get it to repeat to our requirements so we are selling it. It is also larger than we require which could affect zeroing. We were able to repeat to 0.002" but our requirements are 0.000" It came to us with what we believe was an L-2 spindle mount(the keyway is still visible on inside of chuck body). We machined that mount off of the chuck plate down to a shoulder to index the new D1-5 backing plate as shown in the photos. The backing plate was machined to index to the new shoulder on the modified chuck plate. We also machined holes in the new backing plate for access to the chuck rear set screws as shown in photo. The chuck is not beat up and everything is in good shape. The jaws do not rock in the slots; scroll moves smoothly, etc. Evidence of minor rust but scotch brite and oil have it looking very good. Most set thru chuck manufacturers sell matched baking plates with their chucks. Obviously, this is not the case with this set up. We used professional machining practices to create this arrangement but are not totally satisfied with the result. It is possible that we do not understand the finer details of set thru adjustment. It is also possible that this set up simply won't work. We believe the chuck to be English made and of high quality. The backing plate was purchase from Grizzly. For someone who knows set thru chucks very well, this could be a very worthy purchase. If you'd like more pictures or have any questions, we'd be happy to help. Thanks for looking.
