Using our user friendly interface, you'll be able to set all of the settings from alerts to motion detection with ease and we have support just a phone call away to answer any of your questions! This network video recorder has a Dual-Core processor and Linux Operating system so there's no software to install. While a monitor is not needed after the initial setup, you still have the ability to hook up 2 monitors via the HDMI and VGA ports and you have 2 way audio you can use to hear and/or communicate remotely! There are 2 SATA slots that give you plenty of storage capability and you can always hook up multiple external devices using one or both of the USB ports! If you ever need to copy footage for police, etc. you can plug a thumb drive in and copy what you need without having the need for a huge hard drive. **This unit does not come with a Hard Disk Drive.
