Steatite sleeve as used for spacers on Centralab steatite rotary switches. Steatite is a crystalline form of magnesium silicate. It is a low loss, low cost, relatively good strength insulating material which can function safely at temperatures up to 2,000° F. Applications include high frequency insulation, resistor cores and casings, and appliance insulators. These just nicely pass a 4-40 screw and can be used for other things such as heat proof insulation on wires, PC board or other standoff spacers, etc. You can also use these for low loss coil forms for VHF inductors. Note that the hole is not threaded, it just passes straight through. Screw not included, used for illustration only, (coin also not included, :-) Sometimes they are needed to increase the spacing between the decks of a switch or for mounting shields between decks, of just for replacing spacers that have gotten broken.  Size is .42 inches long by .19 inches diameter.  Hole size fits 4-40 screw. Price is per bag of 8 pieces.  Shipping $2 for any number of bags. Make an offer for larger quantities.
