An old friend called me over to look at some comics & stuff from the estate of an elderly man they took care of. The guy was almost 100 yrs old & the stuff goes back to about 1914. I was just given a huge box of mags from the estate. Most are 1930, but I am starting w/ newer stuff to get it out of the house. I do not know enough about these items to sell them all at once, so This auction is for CHOICE OF the 9 MICHIGAN FARMER mags from the list below. These are full of major adds from major companies like Standard Oil, General Electric... One other note is that these mags are huge, probably larger than Sat Ev Post Magazine, so none fit on the scanner & most are blurry on the bottom where the overlapping put them up in the air. There was only 1 of these sold on Ebay, so they are extremely rare. The one sold was a 1962 issue, which went for over $8 w/ shipping. Anyone who knows something about 1940's adds should be able to make a fortune w/ these adds as the entire book is full of them in every issue. I would take $90 for all of these. I have a lot more of these worth scanning going up in other auctions. Comic grade would be good. #4 July 16, 1949(7th scan, bc is Standard Oil add in scan 8.) Comic grade would be good. #5 Nov 19, 1949(fc has mom & daughter making Turkey, bc is a Ford Tractor add.) Nice subject matter but Comic grade would only be fair. #6: Feb 4, 1950(fc has mom & daughter making pies, bc is a Standard Oil add in scan 9. The standard oil truck did not fit in the scan.) fc is only fair, but oil add would be good. #7: March 4, 1950(10th scan, bc is Babson Surge milker add.) Comic grade would be good. #8: Aug 5, 1950(11th scan, bc is the Standard Oil add in the last scan.) Comic grade would be good. Make sure you tell me what mag you want when you buy one of these so I can update it. If making an offer, do the same. Shipping is only $3 total for 1 or all.
