A&D Digital Scale EK-1200G   This is a great scale and it has a story.    This is a professional grade digital scale that belonged to the State of California and was used to calculate recycle rates for the largest recycling program in the country. This scale was used to determine rates that would allocate where millions of dollars were distributed state-wide. Teams traveled with these scales in individually crafted carrying cases via plane and automobile to industrial locations around the state where small containers were weighed. See pictures of paperclips and tissue paper. The largest containers weighed were mini kegs of Heineken beer. They handled all environments: wind, rain, snow and excessive dust. They never gave up only needing to be charged and occasionally calibrated. We used them on their own battery power 98% of the time for hours per day. After the work was completed the scales were cleaned with alcohol or baby wipes to maintain in best running order. If you take care of your equipment, it will take care of you.    These scales were professional maintained by Valley Scales in Sacramento California to ensure accuracy, battery charge and body integrity. These scales were eventually retired to be replaced with new A&D scales. These scales were NOT replaced because they stopped working. They were replaced because the budget for equipment has to be used or it's lost. Any government worker can tell you that. Use it or lose it.    Why do I know all of this information about this scale? Because I worked in this unit for 5 years traveling the state and taking measurements at recycling centers and industrial recycling facilities. A few months before I left, these scales were retired and sent to the state's auction house that is managed by the Department of General Services where I legally purchased all 6 of them. These are the exact scales that previously, I had been using in the field.    Long story short, these scales are great and ready to use for your measuring needs.
