Ultraron Table The Ultraron is a precision engineered rotary table, produced entirely at AA Gage, with applications for inspection, tool room and/or production machining. The Ultraron's accuracy is made possible by the use of AA Gage precision lapped steel balls and integral ground races. AA Gage developed an economical method of processing special hardened steel balls round to extremely close tolerances (2 to 3 millionths of an inch), after extensive research. The Ultraron has a standard concentricity accuracy of 50 millionths T.I.R. (0.000050 inch) and a wobble or rotating parallelism that is held within 100 millionths (0.0001 inch). The Ultraron is of compact design and rugged construction. The table is actually a large bearing assembly constructed with two rows of precision lapped steel balls, preloaded against each other, near the outer diameter. The base of the table is the outer race and the inner race is attached to the tabel top. Locating the precision lapped steel balls near the outer diameter assures maximum table stability and enables the Ultraron to withstand heavy axial and radial loading. Features Extended outboard bearing for heavier side loads when used vertically All bearing surfaces are steel, hardened and ground Two rows of precision lapped steel balls, preloaded axially and radially Table bearings are permanently lubricated Seals designed to prevent contamination from machine particles, dust, dirt and coolant Horizontal or vertical mounting Servo System Servo drive consists a high-performance anti-backlashed gear train and servo motor coupled with a AA Gage Digasine scale to measure the angular position of the table at all times. The rotary Digasine is one of the most accurate electronic means for measuring angular position. It consists of two circular discs, with electrical conductors arranged on adjacent faces of the discs, which are separated by a small air space. The conductors (or coils) are in the form of "hair pin" turns. When an electrical signal is applied to one of these plates (the rotor), the close proximity of the stator causes a voltage to be induced by transformer action. The induced voltages in the stator are the output signals which are used to indicate the angle of rotation between the two discs. Ultraron servo tables can be directly interfaced to 4th axis CNC controllers. A sinusoidal electrical signal from the customer's numerical control is applied to the rotor conductors (coil). By induction, voltages are produced in the two stator coils which are proportional to the sine and cosine of the angle between the rotor and stator. These two signals are converted to the digital information which accurately defines the angular position. All standard controllers are capable of interfacing their 4th axis to the Digasine feedback. Features Can be directly interfaced to 4th axis CNC controllers Position feedback via 8 inch Digasine (720 pole, 360 cycle plates) Anti-backlash gear reduction transmission Transmission system sealed to prevent the entrance of transmission lubricant into the table cavity Capable of positioning to ±1.8 arc seconds using control with resolution of .0001° and repeatability of ±one bit Applications Precision grinding Lapping Precision inspection including concentricity and contours Click Here to Download More Info Calculate Freight Specifications Table Size 12 in Angle Plate Thickness 1.692 in Riser Height 4.625 in Position Accuracy ±1.8 arcseconds Maximum Speed 5 rpm Model Number R-18164 Concentricity 0.000050 in Wobble 0.0001 in Inspection by a Hofstra Group technician allows us to guarantee this hardware to perform to your satisfaction.
