A new Digital Meter for the TV-7 Tube Testers! Now you can easily put a very accurate Digital Meter into your TV-7 Tube Tester! With this Digital Panel Meter (DPM), worries about sticky analog meter movements, meter linearity and accuracy are gone. No more squinting at the meter face to try where the needle is pointing as the large LCD display is easily visible across the room. Also, the Digital Panel Meter for the TV-7 series of Tube Testers has at least 10 times more accuracy than the analog meter. Where the analog meter reads every other number (40, 42, 44, etc...) the DPM reads in 1/10 increments (40.1, 40.2, 40.3, etc...). The Digital Meter has been installed in an acutal Phastron meter housing by taking the Analog Meter out of the housing and mounting the DPM in it with several upgrades: First overload protection diodes have been added to protect the meter if the TV-7 has a bad day. Next, a very high quaility long life meter capacitor is included to replace that old leaky cap in the tester. Improved Line Adjust – The tube under test is tested most accurately when the Line Adjust is at 60. Now you can set it very accurately! Built into an actual Phastron brand 3.5” meter housing. The analog meter movement was removed and the Digital Meter installed. 1/10% accurate so all the displayed digits are good! Calibration of the meter is done with an accurately calibrated 200uA current source. Each meter is calibrated to assure this accuracy. Powered by the tester. Note: You will have to wire the power leads to the TV-7 transformer. This is two connections, but soldering is required. Instructions included. New 100uF Meter Capacitor! Often the old metal bathtub capacitor in your tester is out of tolerance and leaky. This means the reading you are getting may be off. Included on the meter rear is a new 3,000 hr rated 100uF 25V capacitor. Meter Protection Diodes – These diodes will keep overloads and mis-adventures from toasting your new meter! The diodes will protect the meter from anything the TV-7 will throw at it! Installation is easy! Take the tester out of the case by removing the 12 screws around the panel Take your old meter off the panel – 3 screws! Clip the wiring to the old capacitor and meter Wire nut (or solder) the new meter to the tester Route power wires to transformer and solder two connections. Re-assemble. That’s all!
