Acculab Vicon Series are now replaced by the Sartorius M-Prove Series. Acculab is a victim of deleveraging and the brand Acculab has terminated production on December 31, 2010. Yes - Acculab DOES NOT EXIST in 2011 since Sartorius decided to shutdown the Acculab brand name. The Acculab VIC-123 was resurrected as the Sartorius M-Prove AY123. The Sartorius AY-123 is really the same scale with a different color plastic housing and now more money since it is sold under the Sartorius brand. If your budget requires you to spend under $325 then your only choice is a scale designed with strain gauge weighing technology like the VIC123 and the equivalent would be the Sartorius AY123 or Adam HCB123. Strain gauge sensors drift and although the display might increment in one milligram graduations they are not accurate to a milligram. To get away from a strain gauge load cell we recommend the more costly electro-magnetic force weigh cell found in alternative milligram balances like the A&D FX-120i or Scientech ZSP150.
