THIS IS AN OFFER TO UPGRADE YOUR ADC 137260 CONTROL BOARD. THE $50 FEE IS FOR PARTS AND LABOR TO UPGRADE A FAILING BOARD YOU MIGHT HAVE. Alternately, if you have good soldering skill, information below is given to you in order for you to consider doing the repair/upgrade your self. While working at the OEM board repair depot I was involved in uncovering two design problems and finding corrective measures to these problems. While ADC and other repair shops will be happy to do the upgrade for around $125 per anyone with soldering skills can do the repair at a cost of less than $10 for the parts. Time to do the repairs/upgrade is about 30 minutes. DESIGN ISSUE 1 - FAILING HEAT RELAYS (BURNER CONTROL FAULT): Common to all Phase 7 control boards, coin and OPL. *** Symptoms - Overheating, Fire Suppression System (SAFE) activation, burner control faults. Cause - Original design did not provide a high enough voltage for heat relays, K504, K507, to solidly pull in during a heating cycle. This results in a chattering relay that would arc and eventually cause the relay contact to lock closed. Remedy - See second photo. The two circled relays were 12VDC in the original design. The design has change to use 9VDC relays. (Omron G5SB=14 9V DC) DESIGN ISSUE 2 - DISPLAY BECOMES GARBLED AND IMPOSSIBLE TO READ. See third photo. This failure caused the display to show what appears to look like Chinese symbols. This is roughly what this failure causes the display to look like. Forth photo shows U16 on the display board. If U16 is a Samsung component it needs to be changed to an ISSI equivalent. (ISSI IS62C256AL 45ULI) The Samsung IC had a near 100% failure rate so ADC change to the very reliable ISSI component. If you have good soldering skills the above two upgrades should be no trouble and take only about 30 minutes. If not I will be happy to do the upgrade for $50 plus shipping.
