Addressograph Manual Credit Card Imprinter/ Reader Portable Slider with Merchant ID Plate! NO RESERVE! Addressograph was the name for accepting credit cards from the 1970s until the internet took over. Relive a part of yesteryear. This unit is a must for you in order to have emergency, manual credit card processing. It is built like a tank with a plate cut from a solid block of steel! Yet, it is convenient enough to fit in a briefcase or car's back seat for "on the go sales." It uses steel rollers and heavy-duty bolts and nuts, and weighs almost an impressive five pounds! If you are new at accepting credit cards, you may not realize that you will need this old-school method of manually imprinting cards when you are unable to electronically accept a purchase. It is not "if" that will happen, it is "when" and how often that will happen. Be ready for that unexpected time to occur by having the Addressograph ready. This credit card imprinter stands at the ready to take over when your point-of-sale electronic system cannot communicate with merchant services to accept a credit card payment and you have to either call it in or process it later. Its use is simple and convenient, using free carbonless forms and free merchant imprint plate from your merchant services processor. Thoughtful design includes sturdy, one-way rolling mechanism so that the rollers touch the credit card and print slip just once and in the direction of the carbonless form, so as not to crumple the form by going "backwards" over it! Carrying handles are integrated into either end of the body, as well as a standard-sized merchant plate holder that fastens your merchant ID plate securely and easily with two included, easily removed screws. Comes with my old merchant ID plate for good luck! (Of course, if you intend to use the Addressograph, and not display it as a prop or toy, simply remove my charge plate by loosening the two thumb-screws and inserting your own -- a 12-second job.) Before my retirement and over a thirty-year period, I tried 14 different portable credit card imprinters and none was more heavy-duty and sturdy as this one. This is a workhorse; there is no comparison. It is perfect for taxicab drivers and any type of point-of sale businessperson.
