Adjustable Reamers, set of 14, covering 0.463" to 2.126", the 5/8"+- missing. Most of these come from China, purchased individually in industrial supply shops in Beijing in 1988. Two are American. Most of the Chinese ones are unused; a few have seen careful light use. The two American ones have seen considerable use but are still useable. Size ranges are given in metric (followed by inch). The Chinese ones were made for domestic use, not for export... Is the quality different from sets currently available in the USA, which were made for export? I don't know, but these are very nice. The two largest ones included here come in very few (or none) of the commercially available sets. They are heavy! Sizes included: 11.75-12.75mm (0.463-0.501"), 12.75-13.75mm (0.501-0.541"), 13.75-15.25mm (0.541-0.600"), here is the gap in the set, 17.25-19.00 (0.679-0.748"), 19.0-21.0mm (0.748-0.827"), 21.0-23.0 (0.827-0.906"), 23.0-26.6 (0.906-1.024"), 26.6-29.0mm (1.024-1.142"), here a 0.019" (0.5mm) gap, 29.5-33.5mm (1.161-1.319"), 33.5-38.0mm (1.319-1.500"), 38.0-44.0mm (1.500-1.732"), and 44.0-54.0 (1.732-2.126"). The two older American ones are a Critchley 1 1/8-1 1/4" (28.6-31.8mm), and a General 1 3/16-1 11/32" (3.00-3.40mm) with a pilot. The 0.019" gap between the 1 1/8"+- and the 1 1/4"+- probably is not an actual gap, as these adjustable reamers tend to adjust to slightly larger and slightly smaller than the stamped range. Of the Chinese ones, the few I've used have performed well. They seem of uniformly high quality. Most are packed in the original cardboard boxes, marked with size. The old American ones are carefully packed in separate cardboard tubes, as are the two smallest of the Chinese ones. Most machinists prefer fixed reamers when they are available, using the adjustable ones only when the needed size is not at hand. A set like this can expand the capabilities of almost any shop.
