1 – Is your Air Compressor switch leaking air or hissing? If so, the gasket may have gotten old and stiff and can no longer form an airtight seal. Mine did after many years of regular use. 2 – The best and easiest way to fix the problem is replace the Gasket, not the whole switch unless you are a glutton for punishment! 3 – To replace the gasket, partially back out the four screws while firmly holding on to the spring loaded housing in such a way as to keep it from flying apart. Back the screws out enough to slip the old gasket out and the new one in.  4 - DO NOT COMPLETELY REMOVE THE SCREWS. THE SWITCH WILL FLY APART and you will never be able to put it back together again, unless you have 3 hands.  5 – My gaskets are nylon reinforced neoprene rubber, much like your old one except mine are thicker and will last longer.  6 – My gaskets are super tough. I use my 25gal Sears compressor every year to blow out my 7 zone sprinkler system in addition to the normal air tool things thru out the year. That is extremely heavy use and my Gasket stands up to that year after year with no problem.
