This is a bench mount version of the standard type switched attenuator made by Alan, types 10V50 & 70V50, which are 0-10 dB in 1 dB steps and 0-70 dB in 10 dB steps. Bendix Field Service Engineering in Columbia MD (used to be right around the corner from me) boxed these drum type step attenuators in a steel Bud box for ease of use, add BNC extension cables to front panel BNC (f) jacks.  Attenuators could be removed if desired. This is a total of 80 dB attenuator when both are set to max, 50 ohm impedance. I swept this and recorded the values to check all the sections, appears to work very well from DC to 500 MHz, good to 1000 MHz at slightly increased loss and the sections up to 50 dB are useful to 1500 MHz, so this is a wide range attenuator set. The only issue I saw was the 4 dB step was a little high, about 4.7 dB in all.  Handy for the test bench, have fun!
