Up for your consideration is a used IVAC/Alaris 2180CX Turbo Temp oral/rectal thermometer. This unit originally retailed for $495.00 and was intended for accurate, durable and reproducible body temperature measurements in the hospital setting. The thermometer that is being offered is Model 2180C or 2180CX. These are newer and upgraded version of the older Models 2080 and 2085 of which you see offered on Ebay. The 2180CX contains a more sophisticated circuit board that meets the more stringent medical standards that the 2080s AND 2085s did not. As this is a later model, there is less useage and mileage on this thermometer than the IVAC thermometers you typically see offered on Ebay. This thermometer is in very good physical condition and works as it did on Day 1. There may be a few minor scratches on some units, however, the overwhelming majority of these units do not have any minor scratches at all. There are two separate probes, one for oral applications and one for rectal applications. These thermometers were professionally calibrated less than a year ago, however from my experience, they rarely require any recalibration. The Ivac/Alaris Turbo Temp that is being offered is the most recent model and will have a white color body. The older Ivac/Alaris thermometers (2080s and 2085s) are the ones with a gray bodies and were manufactured from 1990 to 1998. The 2080s and 2085s takes about 45 seconds to get an accurate reading, whereas the Turbo Temp usually takes 7 seconds to get the same reading. Please be beware that all IVAC/Alaris thermometers, regardless of age or model number, will not function without the base or the probes sensors...many Ebay sellers offer older models without bases or probe sensors or say that the thermometer cannot be tested. In order to work or be tested, one must have a base unit to reset the units. If an auction does not come with a wall base, that means that you will get a thermometer that will function. In my auctions you will receive every piece of equipment that came originally with the thermometer and it will have been tested prior to delivery to be completely functional. Temp Plus IIs (2080 and 2085) are older units, whereas the Turbo Temps are the newer models. The IVAC/ALARIS Turbo Temp Electronic Thermometer gives the flexibility of placing oral and rectal probes on the same instrument --for fast, accurate temperatures that are consistent from user to user. These thermometers offer the utmost confidence in temperature readings, while saving you time and money. Moreover, these thermometers are far more accurate than the consumer "ear thermometers", and produces real-time and accurate assessments of the patient's condition and thus, provides one with the proper course of treatment. This Turbo-Temp thermometer can provide the user with an accurate reading as fast as 7 seconds. This thermometer is ideal for personal home use and for the health practitioner who must take vital signs as part of an initial or established office visit. This is the only thermometer I have the confidence in to use exclusively in my practice and at home for my family. Moreover, this thermometer is a welcomed addition to the purveyors of daycare and pre-school facilities who need to monitor toddlers and preschool children for immediate signs of illness and infection. Parents would get immediate "heads-up" on early signs of their child's illness and your facility would limit the inherent spread of disease amongst the children. Included is a home base (the thermometer will set off an alarm if the unit is not returned to the home base, an anti-theft measure necessary in the hospital setting), oral and rectal probes; and three (3) boxes of original IVAC probe covers (Alaris/IVAC Model #P850A). The thermometer requires (3) AA batteries for operation and is energy-efficient. I will enclosed (3) Duracell Duralock AA alkaline batteries (exp. date 12-2022) for your use so that you can operate the thermometer immediately upon receipt. The picture illustrates the items included in this auction and an identical unit in the same condition will be shipped. The blue probe in the first picture is purposely situated out of its "resting" position in order to provide a "real-time" still picture of the unit in normal operation. As you can see, the unit is working properly as my temperature reads "97.5" F, and the pulse rate meter (measuring in 5 second increments) has elapsed 30 seconds. The unit has a 60 second timer for pulse rate measurements. Measurements can be taken in either Fahrenheit or Centigrade. There is an automatic backlight which lights up the windows panel. The backlight is operational and convenient when measurements are taken in dim or dark environments, as in a darken bedroom. Additional original IVAC probe covers can be purchased from me at the end of the auction. A box of 20 probe covers is $1.00, so order as many boxes as you wish at a substantial savings from your medical supplier.
