I used the arms on my Alera IN46FA20B Interval Series Swivel Task Stool for about 6 months, before I removed them. They were comfortable and provided excellent support when I was sitting drafting style desk. However when I changed over to a more traditional style desk, I found that they got in way, and so I removed them. I have not used them since. The unit's arms height adjust according to spec, and the rests themselves remain comfortable. The paint around the screw holes show some wear (see photos above), but this does not effect the arm's security and performance.
