ALTITUDE ENCODER READOUT TEST BOX MODEL AERTB-02448 This is a new product for the avionics test technician. It reads out the Gray code altitude presented by a blind encoder or encoding altimeter and/or the serial altitude presented on the serial ports. It can be used as a bench test readout or "under the panel" for in aircraft encoder correlation tests or troubleshooting encoder installations. The test box comes with one cable set for use with ACK Brand 15 pin blind encoders. The cable inserts between the encoder connector and the aircraft encoder harness. In this mode the test box is powered by aircraft power through the test cable. The same cable set may be used on the bench with just an encoder. In this mode the test box is powered by a separate power cable supplied. The test box is compatible with 12 or 24 VDC aircraft voltages. Compare this Test Instrument to the competition. This box decodes serial messages from seven(7) different message formats. It displays the full message as well as the decoded altitude The competition only decodes one serial protocol and only displays limited lower altitude data. This Test Instrument presents simultaneous serial data messages, decoded serial altitude and parallel Gray code altitudes as well as visual indication of actual Gray code.
