THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT RESPONSES TO THE AMK-77 !!!! The AMK-77 Knife 2" X 72" Belt Grinding System, ideal for knife making and general fabrication. This grinder competes with the many machines on the market that cost much, much more. It was designed and built by an engineer / tool & die maker with 40+ years experience in automation, robotics and precision fixture design. AMK, LLC will only design, build, and sell top quality equipment and products. AMK, LLC has a history of engineering, design, and fabrication of specialty fixtures, automated work cells and production lines. So what makes our grinder different...well I'm glad you asked! Our grinder comes with a flat platen and an 8" wheel, this is an extra feature you will pay extra for with other grinders. Yep that's right is comes with both, and you can easily switch between the two by rotating the swing attachment arm. You don't have to remove any parts and store them...they're all built right into the grinder. Other systems with these same features are running from $1,850 to $3,500. Standard Features: 1. "No Tool" operation. No tools needed to change from flat platen to 8" wheel. 2. Uses standard 2" x 72" grinding belts. 3. Oh and did I mention that you get the motor as well...yep a 1.5 HP, 1800 single speed, 110vac motor is included. 4. All of the idler wheels, drive and tracking wheels are made of aircraft grade aluminum with precision bearings and they are 2 1/4" long. 5. Grinder is made from steel and heavy duty aircraft grade aluminum, to last for years. 6. All steel details are black oxided for rust protection. 7. Pre-wired ON/OFF switch to operate on a standard 15-20 amp circuit. 8. Tilt adjustable work table. 9. Table top mountable. 10. Gas Strut Tension Arm. NO SPRINGS here, springs are not reliable for constant pressure. 11. YES YOU CAN DO Slack Grinding! Remove the platen backer and you can slack grind on three different areas of the belt. 12.
