Amprobe AC40C The Amprobe AC40C digital clamp meter is an average-sensing, auto- or manual-ranging multimeter for measuring current, voltage, and resistance in electrical testing applications. It has a transformer clamp that measures alternating current (AC) to 400 amp. The meter comes with detachable test leads that measure direct current (DC) voltage and AC voltage to 600 volts (V), and resistance to 400 ohms. The clamp has two jaws that can close around an electrical conductor up to 1" (25 mm) in diameter to measure current without touching or interrupting the circuit. An audible continuity sensor confirms that the circuit conducts electricity. The hold function keeps the reading on the display, even after the meter is disconnected. The unit automatically turns off after 30 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life, and a low-battery indicator signals when the meter's batteries need to be replaced. A finger guard on the body of the meter helps protect fingers from shock. This average-sensing, or average-responding, meter provides accurate readings when measuring linear loads, such as standard induction motors and incandescent lights, where the current or voltage has a sinusoidal waveform. It is an auto-ranging multimeter and automatically selects the correct operating range for the property being measured. The meter has a 4,000-count resolution, meaning that it can display up to 3,999 units (3-3/4 digits) before the operating range needs to be changed. The meter meets International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety standard 61010 and is certified for category III installations up to 600V, which covers items used with enclosed building circuit installations (service panel parts, branch circuits, and fixed installations that are connected directly to a building's AC power supply). The unit comes with a soft vinyl carrying case.SpecificationsMaximum alternating current (AC) input400 ampMaximum AC voltage input600 volts (V)Maximum direct current (DC) voltage input600VMaximum resistance detected400 ohmsPower supply1.5 V AAA UM-2 batteries (two, installed)Standards met and certificationsEuropean Normal (EN) International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and EN safety standard 61010-1 European Conformity (CE)Weight0.62 lb./280 gMeter dimensions2.5 x 7.5 x 1.42 inches/64 x 190 x 36 mm (H x W x D)H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.Clamp meters (also called clamp-on meters) measure electrical current without cutting through wires or touching or interrupting the electrical circuit. Available in handheld or benchtop models, clamp meters diagnose problems in electrical equipment, wiring, and power supplies. The meter's current clamp has two jaws that fit around a conductor to take measurements. All clamp meters test for current. Some come with test leads and inputs for measuring voltage, capacitance, and resistance. They display information either in analog or digital form. Factors that influence meter choice include the electrical properties to be measured, the anticipated range of results, and the desired level of protection against transient voltages determine meter choice. Safety ratings are based on the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) standards for low-voltage test equipment. IEC 61010 delineates four overvoltage installation categories. In general, a meter with a category IV rating will provide more protection against transient voltages than a meter with a lower category rating.Amprobe manufactures electrical testing equipment for commercial, industrial, and home use. The company was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Everett, WA.Whats in the Box?AC40C Pro average-sensing digital clamp multimeter(1) Test lead set(2) 1.5 V AAA UM-2 batteries (installed)Soft vinyl carrying caseInstructions Product Features: 400 A range 10mA resolution 600 V AC and DC range 4000-count display Autoranging Dimensions (in): 2.60 X 11.60 X 6.40    ____________________________________________________________    Important Information: We offer discounted rates for bulk purchases, please inquire.
