The Hi Q is indicative of low loss inductive components. If there is a shorted turn or coil, no rings will appear. Similarly, a shorted FBT diode will display minimal or no rings. On the left side of the tester, there are LEDs that show the Q of the tested device. If the device has more lights, it indicates a higher Q. No lights suggest a short circuit, red implies that the Q is Bad or low, yellow means ??? or medium Q, and green signifies a Good or Hi Q. The Anatek Blue Ring "Q" Tester/Meter is a top-notch tool that is in excellent working condition. I procured it alongside the blue ESR meter to troubleshoot some of my electronics in the basement. Since then, it has been lying in my closet unused. The package comes with a 9V battery, and if you have any queries, you can always reach out to me. The tester can test in circuit, and its test leads are non-polarized. The high brightness red, yellow, and green LEDs are easy to read and display the Q of the device being tested. The tester has straightforward operations that allow for quick and easy diagnosis of faulty inductive components. The tester's new and improved design increases sensitivity for low impedance components such as SMPS transformers and deflection yokes.
