Up for sale are 12 "New Old Stock" never used Andrew/CommScope Automatic Dehydrators Part # AE01A-D1269. Each one comes in the factory sealed box with a user manual. They operate on 115vac. Below is a description from the user manual. These cost over $3,000 new! This automatically operated dehydrator is designed to supply dry air under pressure to the transmission line and feed portion of a fixed or mobile antenna system. The dehydrator consists of a motor-compressor, two pressure sensing switches, an over-pressure relief valve, a semi-transparent desiccant container, indicating calcium sulfate desiccant and an output shutoff valve. All of these items are contained in a sturdy aluminum enclosure. Edge seals and intake filtering are provided to minimize the ingress of rain and dust. The top of the enclosure forms a baffle that further resists the effects of wind-driven dust and rain. U-shaped mounting ears are welded to the exterior of the enclosure. Their top flange mates with the cover, while the bottom flanges provide a means of mounting the enclosure to the deck or side wall of a vehicle or other support structure. The dehydrator is factory set to automatically operate in response to changes in pressure of the transmission line. The compressor turns on when the pressure drops to approximately .3 psi and shuts off when .5 psi is reached. A check valve prevents loss of system pressure through the compressor when it is turned off or not running. The motor-compressor is a diaphragm type with sealed bearings that do not require maintenance or lubrication. Two small foam filler plugs are fitted in the air intake tubes of the compressor. They require occasional inspection or cleaning. The air intake portion of the enclosure is fitted with two layers od die-cut filter material that is held in place with a cover plate and four self-locking nuts. This material should also be inspected occasionally and replaced when necessary. The desiccant material is tightly packed in its canister. As pressurized air flows through the desiccant, water is absorbed and a wavefront develops in the material that gives an indication of the condition of the material. The desiccant particles are coated with cobalt chloride, which is a bright blue color when dry turning to a bright pink when moist.
