·      Description: -You are bidding on an antique Coffing 3/4 ton chain hoist, which has a patent date on it of April 13, 1926. -It has an approximately 5’ chain connected to the load hook. - I have given the hoist a basic test, cranking it both up and down, and switching the ratchet lever into different positions. I don’t know too much about these old devices, but it appears to be in good antique condition, and I thought it might be cool for display in someone’s classic garage, etc.   Please note: since the hoist is so old, it is important for reasons of safety to have someone knowledgeable in these devices confirm that it can handle a load prior to actual use. I think it looks cool, and it seems to perform on a basic level, but I have not tried any load at all on it. Cosmetically, the hoist looks pretty good with a bit of caked-on grease in the nooks. The metal has a nice old hardened “patina” to it. The tool has typical scuffs, scratches, and small dings to the metal from use over the years.
