Antique AMPEREX Geiger Counter Tube I found this tube in a mixed box of Geiger Counter parts I bought many years ago. I tested it at various levels (300vdc to 700vdc) and it does not work. From the size, the name (Amperex), and the paper label we can guess that it was probably made in the 1940's to 1950s, during the beginning of the Nuclear age. It is a Collector's item for sure, large enough to be framed and mounted in an experimenter's laboratory. Except for it being non-functioning, it is in great shape. It measures 115mm (4.53") in length and 17.7mm (0.7") at it's widest diameter. First time offered for sale anywhere.
