Antique Copper "GOLDEN" Advertising PRINTING BLOCK "We do no Monkey Business" Description Antique Copper Wood "Golden" Advertising Printing Block w/ Monkey & Dog "We do no monkey business..." Description: This is a rare collector's printing block made of copper on wood and most likely from 1800's to 1900's, but not exactly sure. In those days the blocks were sawed by hand and planed with a hand planer. As you can see there is finely detailed art work in this block. There is a picture of a monkey and a dog with the words, "We do no Monkey Business - One Honest Price" and the dog is saying, "Glad You're Pleased". Also the word, "Golden" appears as well, which leads me to believe it is advertising for a company with "Golden" in the name. There is a stamp of the company's initials in the lower right hand corner, but is difficult to read. Very unique and rare. Measurements: Approx. 4" x 4" Condition: This printer's block plate is slightly loose with some scratches and wear, but is still in good condition considering the age. Two sections of the plate appear to be missing, but I'm not sure if it was made that way. Please consider photos for condition. Please feel free to contact w/concerns or questions.
