A French Butcher Block Table, 19th Century. I quote from an appraisal I had done in 2007: "With original labels concours interdepartmental Montlocun, ovins 1re section 2nd prix, the rear splashboard with iron [magnetic] strip above the pieced top, over a front facade with drawer and castellated skirt, all on reed round legs with vase feet, iron strapwork. Condition: With some indentation to the top from use. Provenance: Acquisitions, Charleston, SC. 47" high, 48"wide and 21 1/2" deep. " Note: The  "indentation at the top"  is a charming reminder of the French butchers pounding away on the table for many, many years. The appraised value was $5,600. The skirt became unglued when I last moved it. Caulking is needed between some of the surface maple blocks. The table weighs between 150 pounds, so I suggest you do these minor repairs after delivery.
