Antique Model Of 2 Cylinder Vertical Steam Gas Engine For Ship Marine Or Train?

This engine model was purchcased as part of a lot of late 19th/early 20th century nautical items.  I know nothing about this type of object but will do my best to describe and photograph it. I'm guessing this is a model of an engine found on a large ship.  It weighs just under 10 lbs.  The only marking I can find is near the top of one of the columns.  It appears to be stamped "D 8.20 2" but I'm not certain.  Appears to be in very good condition.  When you turn the wheel, the shafts do move up and down.  It stands 7.25" tall including the base.  As I said, I know nothing about this piece beyond what I've included here to so please feel free to contact me with any questions or information.
