This is "Tool Engineers Handbook" ASTE (American Society of Tool Engineers) handbook from Detroit, Michigan.  It was printed in 1949 and is a stated 1st edition and 1st printing.  The cover is a brighter blue color than it photographs.  The cover is hardcover but is bendable so it is easier to handle.  The corners are a bit bent and there is minor edge wear.  The last picture shows you a small indent at the top of the front cover.  No ripped pages, no dog-eared corners. The previous owner's name is inside but no other writing inside.  The first 20 or so pages show the crease you see in the photos of the table of contents.  The book looks to have been printed that way because it doesn't go all the way through the book.  This book covers so many topics:  tool engineering, product development, small tools planning, plant layout, properties of metals, induction hardening, heat treating, metal cutting, metalworkers fluid and compounds, sand casting, lathes, screw machines, jig boring, and SO much more.  2070 pages of details.  Perfect for the professional. This book weighs more than 4 pounds on its own. FREE MEDIA MAIL SHIPPING IN THE US.   If you need to contact me, please use ask the seller a question.  Thank you for looking.
