Risks such as UV rays, heat rays and troublesome glare are the essential hazards that endanger a welder‘s eyes and those of the people who are directly involved. SGG AULEKTRO protective welding lenses provide absolutely safe eye protection for all welding processes. In order to ensure complete protection, SGG AULEKTRO protective welding lenses are manufactured in two types and 15 protection levels: standard protective welding lenses metal-coated protective welding lenses To prevent fatigue, all levels are manufactured in colour shades that are easy on the eyes. Types of lenses Standard Metal-coated/gold shade SGG AULEKTRO standard protective welding lenses are used in gas welding, flame cutting, arc welding, metal inert-gas welding of steel and light alloys, tungsten inert-gas welding, metal active-gas welding, plasma cutting and plasma welding. SGG AULEKTRO metal-coated/gold-shade protective welding lenses are used in the same application areas as the standard lenses, but specifically for high-temperature work because the metal coating reflects 90% of the heat. Thermal hardened glasses Description Standard and metal-coated protective welding lenses When the correct protection level is selected, the protective welding lenses protect against harmful radiation in the ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) range. The protection level selected must ensure that no glare from the arc penetrates the eyes. Metal-coated SGG AULEKTRO protective welding lenses are used for welding processes that generate a lot of heat. When the welding arc is initiated, avoid looking directly into the welding beam unprotected, because you could otherwise suffer a painful inflammation of the cornea (keratitis) and an irreversible clouding of the eye lenses (cataract). The protective welding lens must be replaced if it is broken, scratched or covered with welding heat to such an extent that it prevents vision and a high level of scattered light is determined. If a lens has to be replaced, it must be replaced with a lens of the same quality and protection level that carries the EN marking (CE symbol).
