My automated horse or pet feeding system is designed for a one feeding per day application.  For example, if your horse is on day turnout, when you let them in the stalls for the evening, feed the evening ration when they come in and put the morning ration in the feeder.  Set the timer for a convenient time in the morning for the feed to be dispensed.  Then when you go to let them out in the morning, the horses have already eaten so you don't need to wait for them to eat.  If you have a horse that eats slowly, you can plan for that with the timer setting.  This feeder is a time saver at my farm. The system is easily scalable from 1 to 100 feeders.  Another advantage of the one dose per feeding application is that you can easily see that the horse has received the proper amount of feed each day.  The feeder system is simple, safe, and rugged.  No electricity at each stall, compressed air is used to open the feeder.
