Automatic Laboratory Mouse Feeder Custom Engineered by Mayo Clinic Engineering Department Enables timed delivery of weighed quantity of mouse pellets and removal of any unfinished food. Carousel contains 18 compartments which will rotate at intervals set by an electronic timer to deliver food for specific intervals set by investigator. Ideal for circadian research, controlled dietary regimens (e.g. food fractionation, calorie restriction, timed interval feeding, diet quantity control). Intervals of rotation are set using an automatic timer which rotates the metal carousel. Carousel is removable from timing system and the plastic facing can be removed to enable rapid filling of up to 18 numbered compartments. Compartments numbered 1-18. Feeder compatible with standard sized mouse pellets. Can remove carousel to weigh any remaining food and facilitate cleaning. Plastic cover with air holes locates over a standard mouse cage and supports the mouse feeder and carousel. Feeding aperture located base of feeder/plastic cover over mouse cage with the height easily accessible. Carousel feeding aperture has bars sized to allow containment of standard mouse pellets with a sufficient aperture for mouse muzzle to access food. Timer and carousel motor run on standard US electricity supply. Enables maximum control of feeding environment while minimizing required man power for research studies in circadian and dietary studies due to automatic multi compartment timed feeder.
