B&K 707 700 TUBE TESTER CALIBRATION SERVICES Professional grade calibration service. This listing is to offer calibration services for 707 and 700 tube testers - not a tester for sale. Services include: cleaning all switches and tube sockets with Dexoit contact cleaner; Replaced all electrolytic capacitors, this is a must do. The capacitor has electrolyte oxide layers that will break down and ruptures after 15 years. The last 707 was made in 1970 so the life of the capacitor has expired.   This issue alone will put the tester out of calibration; Some shop will charge $300 or more for the same service; I check all voltages and bridge resistors; making all service adjustments according to B&K standards; adjusting operation of short detection and leakage circuitry, grid emission, signal voltage, DC Bias balance and balance control. The 83 mercury vapor full wave rectifier tube will be replaced with a fused Solid State Regulated Rectifier. This improves the performance of the tester with better balance. I use a set of calibration tubes as a base line. Without them you can’t tell if the calibration is good. I will also make the 12AX7 full scale meter movement modification see picture. What are my qualifications? I taught electronics at a local Technical College for the last 20 years and have a FCC technician license.
