Offering an old night deposit door from the Central National Bank, member of the Federal Reserve System. O.K. So sometimes I find really neat things that I have no idea what they are worth. Thought about making this into a mail slot, and maybe my neighbors would put money into it. Anyway, this weighs in at 11 1/2 pounds with chute attached. I thought chute was steel, but it is all non-magnetic except for spring and a lock plate on bottom of wall plate, (see pic 3 just under spring). I sanded a small part of chute to show whats under all the crud (see last photo) and it appears to be brass also. When I researched Central National bank, I found numerous ones, like every state had one. Maybe someone remembers ever using one and can send me some more info. Details: 11 1/2 pounds, front plate 10 in wide, 7 in tall. Door is 8 1/2 in by 5 1/2 in tall. Top of wall plate to end of chute is 11 in. Lock is rusted and looks like something in keyhole, could be just dirt. Spring looks intact, but rusty. I think this would be really cool all cleaned and shiny, but would suggest an experienced person to do it right. With heavy duty packing this looks like a 14 pound shipping.
