The paperboard exterior of the cup is made from fibers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) as originating from sustainably managed forests, or by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) as originating from legal and responsible sources. This product meets the D6868 standards of ASTM International, formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials, for being compostable in municipal and industrial composting facilities. It is also certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) as compostable and accepted by Cedar Grove composting facilities.
