Shake or stir well prior to use. Make sure both surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust or particles. Apply evenly to both surfaces and allow proper dry time.  Once adhesive is of tacky consistency, and dry time has passed, press together with weight for 1-2 minutes. Check container instructions for individual optimal drying times. For best results see individual container for instructions. What does Dry Time mean?  Once Barge has been applied to both surfaces, dry time refers to how long you must leave the surfaces separated in order to allow the solvent to evaporate.  What does Open Time mean?  Once dry time is complete, open time is the amount of time the materials being bonded may be left out before being put together.  Does humidity effect dry time? Yes, humidity will extend dry time.  Will Barge dry clear?  Our All Purpose Clear Toluene-Free Cement is the only product currently offered that dries clear. Otherwise the adhesive will eventually dry to a color similar to it’s original color.  Will Barge be flexible when it dries? Yes, all Barge products create a flexible and strong bond when allowed to bond properly.  Will it settle in the can? Do I need to shake or stir it? If left for a long period of time Barge may settle. The best advice is to shake or stir the material in order to optimally remix the formula.  What can I use to clean Barge off a surface or spilled area?  Acetone & Thinner will remove Barge from most surfaces, however we strongly recommend testing it first. Is it water based?  No, all current Barge adhesives are solvent based.  Is it flammable?  Yes, Barge products are flammable. Use in a well-ventilated area. Keep away from heat and flames, such as pilot light, and any object that sparks, such as an electric motor. Avoid prolonged breathing and concentrating of vapors. Keep out of reach of children.  Does Barge offer a product free of VOC’s? Yes, our Infinity system has no volatile organic compounds or any hazardous air pollutants.  Should I wear any sort of safety equipment while using it?  Refer to your local and state safety agency. We recommend a well-ventilated location and using a brush or other applicator.  Will it work underwater?  It will not bond underwater, but once complete and dry the bond itself will be waterproof.  I did everything I know how to do and it’s just not bonding, what can I do? Clean and dry the surface, be sure there is no oil or dust on material.  We recommend lightly buffing or sanding the surface, and cleaning any sanding/buffing dust from surface.  We also recommend lightly rubbing Barge Thinner or acetone on the surface after buffing. Refer to our Material Application chart to ensure the best material for your project. Barge Infinity System works with almost any substrate.  I see a lot of mention about shoe repair, can Barge be used with anything else?  Barge is already being used in a variety of applications and can be used on almost any material.  How do I bond Polyurethane to Rubber?  The Barge Infinity system or Barge Super Stick will bond such substrates. For best results see instructions on packaging.  Do I need to clean the surfaces being bonded?  We recommend thoroughly cleaning and drying surfaces to be bonded as well as making sure they are free of oil.  Do I need to sand the surfaces?  For best results, lightly sand or buff both surfaces. Be sure to clear sanding/buffing dust from surface before applying Barge.  How long should I keep pressure on the bond before testing it’s strength?  Barge will cure in 1-2 minutes Under what circumstances would 2 coats be suggested/required?  When applying Barge to an especially porous surface, it is recommended to use 2 coats in order to facilitate a stronger bond. Cork & Felt often require an extra coat in order to allow Barge to sink in to the pores and properly bond to each material.  Can I bond Barge after the open time has expired? Can I reactivate it? Barge can be reactivated with heat, due to flammable properties a hair dryer is the recommended heat source.  Can Barge be used in a paint sprayer? No, it is too thick and if left to dry may clog spraying device.  I need a temporary bond to stitch together leather/fabrics, does Barge have a product I can use? Our Rubber Cement was created for exactly that. It creates a temporary bond for stitching or otherwise connecting materials.  Does Barge have a shelf life?  Yes, Barge products have a shelf life of one year.   Material Safety Data Sheets
